PROJECT WHITE T-SHIRT
Join us at Welcome Hunters for the Project White T-Shirt opening reception. Project White T-Shirt is a charitable project curated by Triple-Major. It includes 31 designers from 13 countries who have reinvented the classic white t-shirt. All the designs will be exhibited at Welcome Hunters through January, before moving to Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood and Gallery de Vie in Hong Kong. Watch interviews with the designers and bid on the pieces through an online auction at www.projectwhitetshirt.com.
Participating designers include a mix of international talents such as Bruno Pieters, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, Slow and Steady Wins the Race, and Kostas Murkudis, as well as experimental designers Complex Geometries, Daniel Palillo, and Siv Støldal. Some of the designers chose to reconstruct the t-shirt into a tent, a curtain, or a pillow, while others abandoned cotton fabric entirely and created t-shirts from marshmallows and ropes. See the press release for more info.

SKYWARD Exhibition at Swedish Design Museum
Annika Berger/Skyward appointed by Swedish Design museum to show in Göteborg.
Every year one Fashion Designer is selected by Röhsska, the Swedish Design Museum, to create and curate a yearly fashion event at public space Götaplatsen in central Göteborg. This year the Internationally renowned designer Annika Berger SWD/Skyward was appointed and she has chosen to do the show in collaboration with Fashion Designer Titti Andersson, Accessory Designer Hanna Af Ekström and SEEK photographer duo.
The theme for the show is an interpretation and homage to the soul of the city of Gothenburg. The group will present six outfits that represent the ambiance of the Swedish west coast, the performance will be accompanied by Burning Airlines/Simon Ohlsson and Petra Hallberg who has written a customised soundtrack to be performed at the event.
Annika Berger comes from a small countryside-village - Vänersborg, 90 kilometeres from Gothenburg where she now lives and works. Annika studied innovation and design engineering, and later graphic and textile design, when applied to fashion her broad knowledge of design engineering in combination with a strong and original sense of aesthetics, offers a different and unique take on the use of textiles and print. She launched her own unisex label in 2006 SWD/Skyward, which explored her longing for the bigger cities as well as her love of nature and the woods through her designs. Annika won the +46 Award in Jan 2008 and SWD has gained a strong international following.
The Röhsska museum is Swedens only fashion design museum and shows fashion from the Nordic region as well as from the world.
